In The Snow

Here is a very pretty pink rose with a dusting of snow. I don't think there are any roses blooming now, here in the PNW.

Winter Rose

This is sweet, the crystals of snow on this flower.

Snow on Gorse

So this would be a surprise because these flowers are blooming into late spring. Very pretty flower, but they don't smell great.

Daffodil with Snow

It's supposed to snow tonight--and of course it's the wrong time of year for daffodis--but once it snowed on my birthday in April. I was ready to tear out my hair.

Pink Poppies

I love how papery thin the poppy petal is. Here are pink poppies in the field. I grew the Georgia O'keeffe poppy in my yard in Kingston

White Peony

Isn't this pretty. A white peony with bits of red in the center. Very pretty flower.

Beautiful Flower

Well, I'm not sure if this is a daisy. Could be calendula. Or a sunflower. Any guesses?

Dahlia

The dahlias are still blooming down my Taylor Dock. I was surprised, thinking it's already November, flowers should be taking a break. Most all the leaves are off the trees.

Fall Rose

Yes, we are having some frost now. It won't be long before it snows. It's is strange to have it so dark, early. I was sitting eating dinner last night around 6 and it was night outside. Freaked me out.

Rose Closeup

Isn't this rose a pretty color. I was noticing on the interurban trail, roses are still blooming. It's Nov. for gosh sakes.

Primroses

I love primroses. Around here there are fall flowers one can plant, pansies and primroses. The primrose blooms early in the spring and somewhat late in the fall.

Tulip

Closeup orange tulip. Look at those stamins covered in pollen. Very cool.

Mum Macro

Isn't the center of this flower interesting, a little world of green stars. I like how these two colors sit together--very nice.

Lovely gardenia. I had a gardenia plant setting in a west window of a house I lived in in Spokane. It flowered and flowered. It was lovely and the scent so strong, it made me giddy. Later, I would wear gardenias around my neck in Hawaii. Ahhhhh, the scent.

There was one, that later I couldn't no longer buy, but my grandmother bought it for me for Christmas. It was more expensive and smelled like gardenias. I was in heaven.

Iris Japonica シャガ Syaga

This is an interesting Iris. The frilled edges of the petals and and blue and orange, complementary colors, in a little design that could have been made in one of those spinning paint machines at a gradeschool carnaval. Very unique flower.

Pink Orchid Of Desire

Orchidaceae is the largest family of flowering plants. The name is derived from Orchis. This pink orchid is stunning and bold. The petals have fine darker pink striations. The scent is rare and sweet.
